The exotic wood Ipè is an essence appreciated for its characteristics of strength, flexibility and hardness, which guarantee high performance for every use for outdoor use even in environments characterized by rapid variations in humidity; it comes from the rain forests of Brazil, from Paraguay, and from Bolivia. It generally has a dark greenish or reddish brown heartwood with a greasy appearance, the texture is fine, the fiber sometimes entwined.



It is the best wood for outdoor use thanks to its low saturation coefficient and high density that make it particularly stable. Despite being the ideal wood for outdoor decking, piers, quays and bridges, pools edges, vertical facing of buildings near the sea, situations in which any other type of wood would be subject to decomposition, due to salt and moisture, it is also frequently used for benches, fences, outdoor furniture, gazebos and outdoor kiosks.



Thanks to its great density, Ipè wood is also used in cases of high traffic, underfloor heating, bathrooms and kitchens.



Employed on the coast of Miami and Atlantic City, for more than 25 years, has shown a high durability over time, especially for what concerns attacks from atmospheric agents, termites, moths, marine borers, manifesting a deterioration of the material almost nil, much to be guaranteed by the Forestry Laboratory of the United States of America for well over 30 years.
