This medicine is used in the symptomatic treatment of dry cough (not accompanied by mucus) in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.

Composition of Toseina Codeine
The active substance is codeine phosphate hemihydrate. Each ml of oral solution contains 2 mg of codeine phosphate hemihydrate.

The other ingredients (excipients) are: sodium benzoate (E-211), citric acid monohydrate, hydroxyethylcellulose, sodium saccharin, aspartame (E-951), sorbitol (E-420), contramaro flavour, raspberry essence, azorubine (E-122) and purified water.

Product appearance and contents of the package
This medicine is a red solution that comes in 100 and 250 ml bottles accompanied by a measuring cup.

Possible adverse effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Although the frequency of adverse effects is not known, as it cannot be estimated from the available data, these include: constipation, nausea, vomiting, dizziness and drowsiness.

Seizures, mental confusion, mood changes (joy or sadness) and itching have also been reported. Skin rashes may appear in allergic patients.
